| David Lavine, dlavine@farallonlaw.com EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION Harvard University, M.P.P., Kennedy School of Government, 1992 University of California at Berkeley, B.A., Rhetoric with Spanish minor, 1988 A former federal criminal prosecutor who tried upwards of 15-20 jury and bench trials through verdict and appeal, David has specialized in civil litigation in federal and state courts for the last eight years. His more recent work has included securities class actions, consumer protection representative actions, and private business litigation, spanning breach of contract to breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and misrepresentation, and trade secret claims. Motions, mediations, and settlements handled by David have resulted in judgments of hundreds of thousands of dollars as well as injunctive relief for individuals, small businesses and larger companies in the Bay Area and throughout California, and similar savings for those he has successfully defended in court. He is particularly sensitive to limiting litigation costs for his cleints whenever possible. David has taught trial and appellate skills, legal writing and legal ethics to law students and practitioners, has spoken at conferences and on panels covering a wide range of criminal, civil and comparative law topics, and has served as a temporary judge in San Francisco and Los Angeles County courts.
